Abstract

This article analyzes the Brazilian environmental policy formulation as a control mechanism of the collectivity due to the need to regulate natural resources exploitation process. Thus, this article understands the construction of environmental political-juridical framework as a reproduction of environmental management patterned and fragmented criteria and the notion of sustainability under the Foucauldian concept of governmentality. Therefore, analyses this environmentality through political ecology and environmental justice perspectives. Accordingly, it aims to promote a higher social autonomy whose participatory bias operates through a new perspective for the solution of environmental issues base on the adoption of a less unequal discourse on representation, grounded on recognition.
